Chapter: 385
Patricia looked at her fondly and answered, “You're so adorable! There's no need to repay me. ALL you need to do is remember how well I treat you.”
Vivian suddenly recalled something and smiled when she said, "How strange! I just remember something. My sister told me she would also be here. Why haven't I seen her anywhere?"
“Maria said she would attend? Why would she be here?"
Patricia was stunned and then burst into Laughter.
“Do you have any idea what kind of place this is? How would she even get an invitation? She's just a country girl. She doesn't know anything about literature."
Vivian countered, “Is it possible she's Anthony's plus-one? My sister became more ambitious after securing support from the Wilson family.“
“Are you serious? There's no way!" Patricia shook her head in disbelief. "I know the Wilson family is influential, but they're not involved in Literature. Anthony can't help Maria in this industry."
Vivian let out a sigh of relief. "Was she only trying to brag?"
“Of course, there's no other explanation." Patricia scoffed, "Maria is the type of woman who will use anybody and Lie to get what she wants. I think she Lied to you so she could save face."
“I agree!" Vivian nodded in satisfaction but pouted again.
“Aunt Patricia, why do we have to wait in line? They invited us to the event. Why can't we just go inside?"
Patricia answered, "We're not regarded members in this industry. We were lucky to be invited in the first place. The guest card we have is the lowest Level. We have no choice but to wait in Line, and our seats are close to the back."
Although Vivian was unsatisfied with what she heard, she didn't want to seem ungrateful.
She was thankful to have the opportunity to be in the same place as guests more famous than she was. Vivian had to keep her displeasure to herself since all she could think of now was to fawn over them.
“Look, Vivian!"
Patricia pointed to the main stage.
“To start the event, Greta Willows, the chief editor of Novel Hub, will deliver a welcome speech. After that, several stars from the industry will also deliver their speeches. Today, we'll be hearing from senior leaders of Novel Hub. We need to get in touch with them so they'll publish your book, Song of Phoenix, on their platform.”
Vivian squealed in excitement.
“If I can get my book published on Novel Hub, would it be more popular than Mia's book?"
Patricia was taken aback by her question and then smiled bitterly.
