Chapter: 402
“No. It'll be too much trouble for you to go out in a wheelchair," Maria quickly answered.

She didn't want to cause Anthony any more trouble than was necessary. Every time he went out, he had to use a wheelchair since everyone thought he was disabled.

The drive to the Jenkins’ villa was about 4@ minutes. It would take too much time and to drive there and then come back. There was no need putting Anthony through all that trouble.

"What I'LL consider trouble for me is you falling asleep without me around. I'd be too worried to sit tight." He was clearly not ready to compromise with her. He was going with her whether she was okay with it or not.

In the Jenkins' house. No one had expected Maria to be back so soon. Vivian had an exaggerated smile on her face when she saw her. It was rather obvious that she was faking it.

Julie was about to say something when she also spotted Maria. She then stopped and just smiled, genuinely happy to see Maria. She felt like a mother whose daughter had come back home to visit after her honeymoon.

"Hello... Maria, right? My name is Boden Smith and I'm from Broome. I am your cousin actually.”

Boden introduced himself politely. He knew that Maria was adopted, but he didn't want to make to her feel uncomfortable.

The Smith family had put him in charge of smoothening the relationship between Julie and the Smith family. As a matter of fact, all the activities he carried out in Sheffield were to achieve this purpose.

Since Julie had adopted Maria, he had to be polite to her for Julie's sake.

Cousin? Maria had a straight face on, but she was surprised. She hadn't expected to meet anyone else at home.

However, she nodded and answered, “Hello, Cousin Boden."

Maria had always been very cold and straightforward. She wasn't going to fawn over him Like Vivian had surely done.

Boden realized that his two cousins were very different. He didn't have to live with them to know it.

“You came back alone? I heard that you got engaged. Why didn*t you come back with your fiance?" Boden asked with a smile.

“He can't walk, so he is waiting for me in the car. I only came back because I left something here. I'1l take my leave once I get it," Maria said seriously.

It was only after that she said this that she noticed her notebook on the tea table in the Living room. Had someone read it?

She glanced at them, preferring to keep her thoughts to herself, and then picked up her notebook.

“I'LL be leaving now.”

“Wait!"
