Chapter: 428
“Look! Master Vincent is coming out!"

Standing on the main stage of the banquet, Vincent swept his gaze across the crowd and greeted the guests kindly.

Beside him, there were several old men, including Darian, the chairman of the Broome Jade Carving Association, and the most respected jade carving masters in the whole country.

“First and foremost, I would Like to thank you all for sparing some time to attend this event."

Vincent's voice, which obviously had traces of all the hardships he had been through, echoed through the microphone.

His opening remarks were worn-out cliches--very polite and didn't seem out of the ordinary. But still, the guests showed utmost respect to him. The moment his speech ended, the entire hall was filled with thunderous applause.

“To tell you the truth, the main event for today's banquet is not me celebrating my birthday..."

Most of the guests present weren't aware that Vincent was going to announce about his new disciple today.

But based on his words, they realized that there was going to be a big surprise.

“I'm now eighty years old. Many of my friends are worried that if something bad happened to me, I will Leave this world without having a disciple. With that, the unique skills of the Geoffrey Jade Carving School will accompany me into my coffin."

When the guests heard this, they were both surprised and delighted.

Based on how Vincent said this statement, one could easily infer that he was finally going to accept a disciple.

This was indeed a big news for the jade carving industry.

However, the important question was that did Vincent already had a person in mind? Or was he still going to choose from several prospects?

Among the guests, there were some young and skilled jade carving craftsmen. Some of them were fortunate enough to once be guided by Vincent himself, while some were still not qualified.

However, despite the varying level of their skills, all of them thought that they had the chance of becoming Vincent's disciples.

“There are at least one hundred young people present today. Does it mean that Master Vincent is going to choose from us?" a young sculptor whispered to his friend.

“Maybe... But do we have a chance? Well, we got the invitation on behalf of our hometown. Maybe, the invitations were actually for the candidates?"

The more they talked, the more excited they became. The whispers suddenly became an uproar.

Similar situations happened in every corner of the hall. This was an intriguing news that they couldn't ignore.
