Maria answered without hesitation.

Julie sensed Maria's usual indifference through the phone screen.

“Why?" Julie asked, filled with curiosity.

“I'm very busy.”

Julie kind of expected this curt, arrogant answer.

Lost for words, she said sheepishly, “I just wanted to know..."

Julie waited but Maria didn't reply after that.

She waited anxiously for her phone to beep again, but Maria only replied after half an hour.

While she waited, she saw Bill opened a safe and rummaged around in it for something.

Julie never touched the safe. She had no idea what Bill kept in it. She even didn't know the password for the safe.

Bill rummaged for a while longer and then took out a pink diamond necklace from the safe. It looked stunning! And priceless!

“Vivian, here is a gift for you for your outstanding accolade!"

Julie looked at the pink diamond necklace in utter astonishment!

The necklace belonged to a real international brand!

When did her husband invest in such an expensive piece of jewelry? Why didn't she know about it?

Patricia also smiled and said, "Vivian, I haven't got the time to purchase a proper gift for you. But I would like you to have this bracelet of mine. It has great sentimental value to me but I would love to gift it to you!" After saying that, Patricia took off the bracelet from her wrist and gave it to Vivian.

Julie was gobsmacked.

Boden then said, "Vivian, I don't have with me any decent gift to give you at the moment, but we must celebrate your success in the right way. I am going to prepare a comprehensive film contract for you. It will be tailor-made just for you!"

“Thank you so much, Cousin Boden!" Vivian burst into joyous laughter. After getting three gifts, she instinctively moved her glance toward her mother, Julie.
