Chapter: 472
Vivian's face twisted in rage.
She screamed, “No! This is slander! My novel is truly original. Why would I plagiarize someone else's work?"
A note of hysteria crept into her voice, and she didn't seem that she could come up with more to defend herself.
At this point, Patricia hurriedly chimed in, “Julie, how can you believe the nonsense of these online commenters? The Internet is full of idle people who can’t stand seeing other people succeed. All they're good for is criticizing others."
Bill pulled a long face and asked, “Why are you showing this to us? Are you suspecting your own daughter?"
In the twenty years that they had been married, Julie was always the one with the higher status in their family.
So no matter how angry or annoyed he was, Bill kept his voice Lowered while blaming Julie. He didn't dare to shout at her.
Boden actually hadn't read Song of Phoenix or Female Military Counsellor.
Although he was an investor in the film adaptation of Song of Phoenix, he was too busy to read the original novel.
Therefore, Boden couldn't make a personal judgment about the matter, but after getting along with Vivian these past few days, he couldn't deny that she was a versatile girl.
She could act, sing, play the piano, and she even knew a little about art. Therefore, it made sense that Vivian could write novels as well.
Of course, the situation sometimes reminded him of an old saying "Jack of all trades, master of none." Vivian could do a little of everything, but she was outstanding at none of it.
But now, seeing how Vivian was on the verge of tears after being wronged, he couldn*t help but want to believe and support her.
“Aunt Julie, most of the comments we see online aren't credible," Boden pointed out, taking Vivian's side.
“It's normal for novels in the same genre to have similar plots. For example, in martial arts novels, it is very common for the hero to avenge his parents, obtain rare divine weapons, and train to become an unbeatable martial arts master. Can writing such a plot be considered plagiarism?"
Hearing this, Julie fell silent.
She didn't have the habit of reading recreational novels, let alone Vivian's Song of Phoenix and Mia's Female Military Counsellor. Therefore, she couldn't refute Boden's words at that moment.
“Thank you, Cousin Boden." Vivian Looked up at Boden delicately, and her eyes sparkled with unwept tears.
Patricia smiled approvingly. "Boden is so smart. He managed to easily express what we were all thinking. Anyway, I totally believe in Vivian. I'm sure she wrote this novel by herself!"
Then, taking Julie's hand, she softened her tone and asked, “How can we suspect our daughter, right?"
