Chapter: 497
“Okay, okay! I skipped work. It's none of your business."
Jessica took out the bag of glucose water from her pocket and unscrewed the lid to take a sip, as if she was having a refreshing beverage.
“It seems that you at least still remember some of your medical knowledge. Humph!" Jessica continued with a long face.
Julie blushed, but this time when she smiled, it was a genuine smile. Just like Maria, Jessica never pretended to be someone else in front of her. People like that put Julie at ease.
“If you are thirsty..." Julie began, glancing at the bag of glucose in her friend's hand. "How about we go and have some tea?"
“Are you talking about the high-class tea served at tea parties, or milk bubble tea you can get anywhere?" Jessica asked, raising an eyebrow.
Julie was stunned.
Recalling Jessica's taste from twenty years ago, she asked carefully, “Is milk bubble tea... okay for you?"
Jessica shot Julie an incredulous look.
“I will get fat if I drink that!"
Then, with a mischievous grin, she added, "But just this once!"
In an unremarkable milk tea shop on the roadside, the shop clerk was surprised to see that the first group of customers to enter today were two middle-aged women.
Nor were they the sort of middle-aged women that she was used to seeing, wearing shabby clothes with disheveled hair. One of them was clearly a rich Lady with an outstanding temperament. The clerk was so overwhelmed by the lady's presence that she almost wanted to serve her free of charge.
The other lady, who seemed to be a doctor, was also beautiful, but with a fierce and ferocious demeanor. While ordering, she kept muttering, “More bubbles! More!" with an unsatisfied look on her face.
What kind of weirdo combination was this?
The elegant lady only ordered a cup of honey green tea, while the doctor ordered a cup of milk tea with extra bubbles, and then fried chicken wings, French fries, and some Japanese octopus balls.
“Ma'am, your food is ready. Please come and take it." After putting all the snacks and beverages neatly on a tray, the shop clerk called out to the two ladies who were lounging at a table.
“Sit down. I'll get it!"
The shop clerk saw the doctor speak sharply to the rich Lady.
Even when it was time to pay, the doctor instructed the rich Lady to pay. The clerk couldn't help but wonder if all doctors had been this domineering even outside work.
