Chapter: 500
“Are you willing to go back to Broome now?”
Jessica fixed her eyes on Julie, as if pressuring her to make a decision right away.
It was a simple question, answerable by yes or no. But for Julie, it might be the hardest one she had to deal with.
However, Julie was like a scarecrow, frozen in her seat. She had completely lost her senses that she didn't even notice that the shop clerk came to clean the table.
After a long time, as if Julie finally returned to earth, she nodded slowly.
“I need to go home..."
Although she said that, nobody knew whether she was referring to her home in Sheffield or the one in Broome.
As soon as she finished her words, Julie stood up and left Jessica there, whom she actually hadn't met for a Long time.
She walked unsteadily as if she wasn't herself yet. She needed time to think, and she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.
Half an hour later, Julie arrived at the Jenkins family's villa. Sitting in the empty Living room, she realized that there was no one with her at home.
Her husband had gone out early in the morning and wasn't even answering his phone.
She also thought of calling her best friend, Patricia, but she knew that the latter was very busy as well.
She had no one to talk to, and so she had to make a difficult decision on her own.
To be exact, Julie admitted that she didn't even have to make this decision at all. She had no other choice.
Her father was dying. Indeed, they had a falling out twenty years ago because his father couldn't understand her pursuit of free love. She had to leave and stand on her own feet when she became pregnant out of marriage.
Although these scars had been very painful, Julie suddenly felt that these were not enough to completely turn her back on her father.
In fact, she missed her father so much at that very moment. She wanted to see him again before it was too late. However, Julie didn‘t know how to persuade her two adopted daughters to take a Leave on their work and go to Broome with her.
She knew that Maria was very busy. Vivian would probably have no time as well. Moreover, Julie knew that Maria had no obligation to see and visit
Mathias.
After all, she had just been adopted by the Jenkins family recently. She hadn't even established a proper relationship with her foster parents.
