Chapter: 535
Looking at Maria, the thought that Maria was not Like her at all only grew stronger, gnawing at Julie's heart.
Even Julie, who was not easily impressed by anyone, could not help but appreciate Maria's beauty.
However, she could clearly sense that she and Maria were miles apart in appearance. She didn't need to do a maternity test to know that Maria was not her daughter.
And yet...
Just Like her father, Julie couldn't let go of the silly hope in her heart.
Recalling the dream again, she felt bittersweet.
“Maria, please don't mind. It's all to make your grandfather happy,” Julie said quickly. She was a little flustered, worried that she was acting out of line.
“No need to explain," Maria interrupted her.
“Mom, I understand."
Mom?
Julie held her breath for a moment, as if she could not believe her ears. It was the first time that Maria had called her "Mom."
That was, of course, other than that time in her dream.
Considering how naturally the word left Maria's lips, Julie even wondered if Maria had called her "Mom" before and she was the one who didn't remember it.
Julie secretly chided herself for her poor memory. Did she have Alzheimer's or something? Otherwise, how could she forget such an important moment?
Nonetheless, hearing Maria call her mom filled Julie with so much joy that laughter bubbled up to her throat.
If she remembered correctly, Maria had never called Bill "Dad." Strangely, Julie wasn't angry at Maria at all.
Rather, she felt proud, as if she had surpassed Bill in a competition.
Julie, Maria, and Anthony walked into the testing agency. The head of the agency, who was already informed of their arrival, had been waiting them for a long time.
Usually, there would be at least a few people in the testing agency. But today, apart from the staff, it was completely empty. It was closed to the public in order to serve these three distinguished guests.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Wilson. These two Ladies must be Mrs. and Miss Jenkins, right?"
