Chapter: 536
The head of the agency was a man in his fifties. He was wearing a white lab coat and gold-rimmed glasses, which made him look like the picture-perfect image of a doctor.
Anthony nodded.
Before he could say anything, Julie introduced herself.
“Hello, I'm Maria's mother."
But as soon as those words left her mouth, she blushed.
Why had she said those words for no reason? After all, they had come here to take a maternity test. And now she claimed to be Maria's mother? What if her contradiction had made Maria feel awkward?
Julie wished she could take back her thoughtless words.
Just then, Maria, who was standing aside, said expressionlessly, “Hello, sir. Please do a maternity test for me and my mother."
Julie looked at Maria in surprise. The embarrassment and uneasiness in her heart vanished in an instant.
“Of course." The head of the agency nodded with a smile.
“To do the maternity test, we only need a sample of your hair. You'll get the result in six hours."
Usually, it would take about a week to get the results of such a test, or at most three days.
But since this was a special case, the agency would fast track their test to get a result within six hours.
The maternity test itself was a simple task. All Maria and Julie had to do was provide the test samples under the staff's instruction. After that, they just had to wait.
"It's so boring to wait here. How about we go somewhere else?" asked Anthony.
Julie nodded immediately.
“Sure, let's find a place where Maria can rest."
Once again, she blushed after realizing how straightforward she was. But her words seemed to have impressed Anthony, who was Looking at her with newfound respect.
“Let's go there.”
As the three of them walked out of the agency, Maria raised her hand and pointed at a cafe not far away. Julie squinted her eyes at the coffee shop named W Cafe.
