Chapter: 57
Since she was currently in a good mood, Vivian sounded a little forbearing.
However, it was only to mask her insinuation of irony as if she was waiting to see how negatively her remark would affect Maria.
“I see." Just like she usually did, Maria responded rather nonchalantly.
Of course, Yeez Entertainment would choose Lyndsey. The part had always been hers, so why should she be surprised?
At this point, Vivian was getting annoyed and a little unhappy that Maria was calm and didn't seem to care.
"Well, do you still want to play a part in the show? If you want, Aunt Patricia could probably get you a role.”
Vivian turned to Patricia with a conniving glance.
“Aunt Patricia, will you be able to arrange a position for Maria? Even walk-on parts like a maid or something Like that may do. I'm sure she can pull it off."
Patricia waved a Limp wrist. "Oh, for sure! That's a piece of cake. I can handle that in minutes. Anyway, Vivian, prepare for a glamorous party tomorrow at Viton Hotel. I'LL take you as my plus-one. Parties like this can help you expand your network, you know."
After mentioning her invitation to Vivian, Patricia remembered that Maria was still in front of them. She then shook her head at her.
"Oh, I can't bring you to the party, Maria. It's very exclusive. You know, by invitation only."
An exclusive party?
At the Viton Hotel?
Maria didn't respond, but Vivian could hardly hide her excitement.
“Aunt Patricia! Viton Hotel is where the Film and Television Association conducts activities, right? Would there be famous directors, producers, and other actors at the party tomorrow?"
In her eagerness, Vivian almost rapped her response to Patricia and ended up short of breath as if she had just finished an intense workout.
Attending events like these was exactly the dream of new actors like Vivian. After all, it would benefit their career if they managed to widen their social circle.
No matter how big the gap was between her and those already famous actresses, she could still make a splash at the banquet and even win the favor of a producer or an acclaimed director.
Patricia nodded proudly, "Yes, my dear. And you'll be happy to know that I also got you a chance to sing a song. I wasn’t so sure, but I seem to recall you took singing lessons."
With bright eyes and a big smile, Vivian nodded repeatedly. "I did! I learned from Professor Lydia Clemens for around two years."
Upon hearing the name of the professor, Patricia felt very satisfied.
After all, more than being the head of the Vocal Music Department of Sheffield Conservatory, Lydia was a renowned soprano in the city and the vice president of the Sheffield Musicians Association.
Under her tutelage, even if Vivian weren't a professional singer, singing a song would be a piece of cake for her.
“Vivian, it's a rare opportunity tomorrow. You must sing your best piece and try to make all the guests remember you. Understood? If you're lucky, you may get to sign several new plays right on the spot."
When she mentioned this, Patricia smugly glanced in Maria's direction.
