Chapter: 613
It would be fine as long as no one mentioned it. But as long as it was brought up, it would appear to be a major issue.
Lorraine was now ill. As a junior, Maria had yet to visit her. It would appear that Maria was impolite and did not take her uncle and aunt seriously!
“What? Maria hasn't come yet?"
Vivian acted as though she were surprised.
Then, with her gorgeous eyes wide open, she turned to gaze at her father as if to tell Bill that this was unreasonable!
Cory and Ron's expressions darkened as they took in this scene.
Bill responded, shaking his head, "She has a fiance now and she presumably considers herself a part of the Wilson family. Hence she is unconcerned with the Jenkins and Smith families. Alas..
Just then, footsteps could be heard coming from outside.
"You shouldn't raise your voice when speaking ill about someone behind their back. Your case is not particularly strong from a legal standpoint, yet it may still be considered slander."
Maria entered the living area and cast a frosty gaze at Bill and Vivian.
Feeling guilty, the two of them avoided eye contact. Behind Maria stood a woman. Despite looking like in her forties, she appeared quite attractive.
Maria said as she introduced the woman to Cory and Ron, "Uncle Cory, Ron, I heard that Aunt Lorraine is unwell, so I found a doctor and brought her here to examine Aunt Lorraine. It took me some time. That's why I was unable to visit Aunt Lorraine earlier. Please accept my apologies."
"Of course, Maria. I understand." Ron nodded in a daze.
He was taken aback by the situation.
His friends and family members who came to see his mother all brought gifts like tonics.
Ron had not anticipated for Maria to bring a person along instead.
In addition, he vaguely recalled the female doctor in front of him who had a powerful aura and appeared unruly.
Was it her?
The woman who even the Smith family could not persuade?
The doctor who had just examined Lorraine, Dr. Valdez, was already the head specialist at a large hospital in Broome. He was a renowned physician in Broome.
If that doctor were to stand in front of this female doctor, he might have to humble himself and bow his head!
"Nonsense!" A rebuke halted Ron's train of thought.
It was none other than Bill.
He marched over to Maria, scowled at her, and cast a glance behind her at the beautiful doctor, who looked graceful.
