Chapter: 615
Was it her?
Was it that woman?
It had been years since they'd last seen each other. Not only was she as beautiful as Julie now, but her fierce nature remained the same.
Bill backed away, seeking to put some distance between himself and Jessica.
Once she heard the name Jessica Wilson, Vivian was able to place her identity.
Jessica Wilson was the most influential member of the Wilson family outside of the business world.
She was a Ph.D. and the chief physician of the hospital affiliated with Broome University. She was also a tenured professor at Broome University's medical school.
Rumor had it that she had turned down the opportunity to Lead the hospital as its head for a third time due to her carefree character.
In a word, Jessica Wilson was widely acknowledged as the best female doctor in the country!
“Humph!" With a cigarette in her lips that she could not light, Jessica snorted discontentedly.
She then turned to Maria, who was by her and said, “Recently, I've been on vacation in Sheffield. However, as her attending doctor, I had to come to Broome to give her a regular checkup.”
Maria broke into a beaming smile.
Despite her cold exterior, Jessica's heart was warm in her role as a doctor.
Even though Maria had never asked for regular checkups, Jessica seemed to attach great importance to it. She had a special schedule made for Maria's treatment and followed it strictly.
When the day came, she flew the Wilson family's private plane to Broome to look for Maria.
In fact, it was Maria who requested Jessica to check on Lorraine's condition now that she was here.
“Wow, that's incredible!" Cory said eagerly, "Professor Wilson, I have tried and failed to invite you several times before. Now you have truly arrived. My wife is incredibly fortunate!"
Jessica, though, sneered and ignored his remark.
How could she be unaware? Due to his wife's condition, Cory had been trying to reach out to her throughout the past few years.
However, Julie's exclusion from her family had long been a sore spot tor Jessica.
Although she hated Julie for been too willful and reckless back then, she also despised the intolerant and conventional Smith family for actually kicking Julie out.
The Smith family had no idea that the most famous female doctor in the country, who had risen to prominence over the last decade, was the college best friend of the Smith family's unfilial daughter!
Given Jessica's prominence in the medical sector and the background of the Wilson family, she was not someone the Smith family could easily intimidate.
“Okay, so let me just say this right off the bat. You'll have to pay a hefty sum for my services," Jessica said coldly.
