Chapter: 741
“I promise I'll come back for dinner,“ Anthony said.
He just made a promise to her! Maria pressed her lips into a thin line to hide her smile.
She stood up and walked toward the door. "I'll just go out and get some groceries, then."
Just then, Anthony suddenly stepped forward and pulled her back.
Since he pulled her back too fast, she lost her balance and immediately fell into his arms.
It was rare for them to be so intimate, and Maria was not used to it. She just froze as she stiffly stayed in Anthony's arms.
"You should at least change your clothes before going out. You're literally wearing pajamas right now," he whispered in her ear.
Maria looked down at what she was wearing. He was right.
She really was wearing pajamas, and going out looking Like that would be inappropriate.
“I'LL go and change my clothes," Maria said as she got out of his arms. Just as she did so, some questions popped into her mind.
Would she be able to buy some nice fish in the supermarket in the afternoon? She was afraid the fresh ones were all purchased in the morning as they usually were.
And then, what kind of dish was she going to cook? Why did Anthony suddenly decide to date his ex-fiancee? The third question made her feel uneasy.
However, she just decided to drop it since she had no right to interfere with Anthony's private life.
"You're finally here, Anthony. I thought you wouldn't come," Jacqueline said with a smile as soon as she saw her ex.
For this particular appointment, she booked the whole coffee shop.
All of the waiters and baristas waited at the counter. They were ordered to only serve two distinguished guests this afternoon.
Jacqueline was wearing a gorgeous bright red dress that Looked just right with her fair skin and hourglass figure. Not to mention, she was wearing a fine designer watch, a pearl necklace, and a pair of sapphire earrings to complete the Look
She looked truly radiant at that moment. Even if she went to an international film festival where all of the celebrities were gathered, she would most certainly be the most eye-catching one there.
“Hello, Miss Bowles," Anthony replied. Just Like how he showed up in other public places, he came to the appointment in a wheelchair. The only difference was that the person who was pushing the wheelchair for him today was Jack.
A trace of disappointment flashed in Jacqueline's eyes the moment she saw Anthony sitting in a wheelchair.
However, she covered her emotions well. Her eyes immediately lit up as soon as he approached. It almost Looked as if she was genuinely happy upon his arrival.
Jacqueline looked gorgeous, but compared to Maria, she was most definitely inferior.
God... How do I describe the difference between them? Jack thought to himself until he finally found a suitable word.
Natural. It was natural.
