Chapter: 82
Despite that, Vivian wasn't fazed; she still felt that she had become close with Lyndsey now.

Vivian's gaze swept over the rest of the banquet hall and inadvertently fell on the entrance, where she saw Maria pushing a wheelchair in.

There was a man sitting in the wheelchair, but the light at the entrance was rather dim that Vivian couldn't see his face clear. But even though the man was seated, his tall figure and domineering aura couldn't be hidden.

Vivian knew at once that this man must be Anthony.

Even at first glance, he seemed somewhat... extraordinary. No, no, no.

This was ridiculous! A disinherited heir with broken legs didn't deserve her attention at all. She didn't want to have to push him around in a wheelchair everywhere they went.

Thinking of this, Vivian smiled again. She felt as if she could already see their entirely different fates side by side: the latter half of Maria's life would be miserable taking care of a cripple, while she, Vivian, would be enjoying fame and glory, holding a prized trophy under the spotlight.

Soon, the piano performance ended, punctuated with scattered applause from the audience.

Taking a deep breath, Vivian walked onto the stage and stood in front of the microphone.

The music began.

The stage overlooked the rest of the banquet hall. As Maria continued to push Anthony into the banquet hall, the latter's face was gradually illuminated by the Light. As the beautiful prelude of the song played in the background, Vivian finally saw Anthony's face clearly.

The extent of how handsome his facial features were could not be described in words.

At the same time, Vivian noticed the masters and heirs of rich and powerful families, top-class stars, and famous directors all gathering around Maria and Anthony.

What were they doing? Why were they all Looking at Anthony instead of her?

Vivian was stunned, but she didn't have any time to think about it.

Her mouth opened subconsciously in sync with the music, but she found that she had forgotten the lines.

The music continued playing in the background, but by the time Vivian came to her senses, it was too late for her to start singing.

Exasperated with her mistake, the host of the banquet ordered the emcee to usher Vivian off the stage. Meanwhile, the band skillfully transitioned into playing a piece of trio chamber music as if that was the plan all along.

All the guests present were dignitaries, and of course wouldn't make a fuss about such a trifle.

Even so, as the host of the banquet, people from the Film and Television Association felt very embarrassed.

“Aunt Patricia, I..."

Vivian was at a loss for words when she saw Patricia walking towards her.

Patricia had just been scolded by the director of the Film and Television Association, so she couldn't even force a kind smile at this moment .

"Don't say anything. Let's go," she said in a low voice.

Although Patricia doted a lot on Vivian, she was still a rational woman. She knew that it would only be more humiliating for her and Vivian if they continued to stay at the banquet.
