Michael had been recuperating on the bed for several months, and Anthony had been pretending to be disabled for that long as well.

The two of them were injured during an unexpected assault. Michael's injuries might have been much worse if not for that mysterious person who shouted a warning at them at the Last second.

The only clue they had was that person's surname was Jenkins, and that person was living in the suburb of Sheffield.

However, the Jenkins surname was rather common in that area. It wasn't easy to track down that person.

“I have read it multiple times. It‘s Green Stones written by Curt Willows." Maria gave an honest answer.

He reached for another book on the bedside and asked, “Then how about this one? Have you read this before?"

Looking at the title of the book, Maria's lips pursed. But she calmed herself down and answered, “It's Mia's work. Female Military Counsellor. I think I have read it before..."

Michael kept a straight face when he heard this.

“If you had read this novel, just say yes. If you haven't, just say no. How hard is that? What did you mean by what you just said anyway?" Maria had to concede and said, "Yes, I have read that novel.”

Michael turned around and addressed Anthony. "She has a good taste in reading, but she is not very candid."

Anthony said, "I agree.”

Candid?

Who in this world was ever candid with another?

Besides, Maria never expected such a question from the elders regarding her reading.

Maria was perturbed.
