Chapter: 871
Maria looked at him in confusion, completely awake now.
“Mr. Willows won't be coming. I was sent to replace him," she explained as if it was supposed to make sense to the man.
However, Enzo didn't hear the name very well since Maria yawned as she spoke. What he heard was "Mr. Williams", and there were at least a dozen teachers called Williams in the Writers' Association. So, he couldn't know who she was talking about.
They tried to see her face, but they couldn't see it clearly since she was wearing a cap.
When she finally raised her head and they had a good look at her face, they were all taken aback.
One couldn't help herself and ended up saying, “You're so beautiful!” Maria's beauty instantly made the college students present Like her.
All being graduate students in the university, they were always so focused on studying, researching and writing. They almost never paid any attention to entertainment news on the Internet.
That explained why they didn't recognize Maria. They hadn't watched the two reality shows she had participated in.
“Thank you."
Maria looked at the sweet girl that complimented her. She was average looking, but she had a good dressing style. She had a lovely baby-fat face and black framed glasses. She was what one could call elegant.
"You are also very beautiful," Maria added with a smile.
“I'm Dora Collins, and this is Enzo Natt. We are all students from the literature department of Sheffield University. What about you?"
Dora blushed, but contained herself and introduced herself and her friend.
"My name is Maria Jenkins."
“Maria Jenkins? I think I've heard that name before," Dora murmured under her breath, but when nothing came to her, she let it go.
This wasn't the first time she was helping her teacher at the Writers’ Association, so she assumed that she must have heard Maria's name one of the other times.
“Well, Maria, work isn't done yet, and there's still a lot to do. Maybe if we finish all these in time, the teachers will let us stay to watch when the activity officially begins," Enzo said kindly, thinking she was also just another volunteer.
“I don't understand. You mean they'll kick you out after the activity starts even after you worked so hard to get everything ready?"
Maria was genuinely surprised.
However, her surprised reaction made Enzo and the others look at her with admiration, but not just because of her beauty this time.
If Maria reacted this way, it might be because she wasn't a volunteer like them, and she didn't need to do any work at all.
Here, only the students of the low-star writers worked as volunteers. If Maria's teacher was a high star-rated writer, then he or she would definitely make her stay and watch the activity when it began.
Dora blinked rapidly in confusion.
Suddenly, she remembered something.
