Chapter: 873
It was only after he said this that Maria realized the people making the final arrangements were mostly volunteers, while others only stood and shouted orders at them. They must be the staff Enzo was talking about.

They ordered the volunteers around and even insulted them sometimes, but the volunteers only smiled apologetically at them. If they did open their mouths to say anything, it was only their apology.

Maria was furious as she realized this. It was unacceptable!

“Hey! What the hell is wrong with you all? Why did you stop working? Hurry up and keep working! Don't you see that there is much to do?" The harsh and arrogant voice made Maria look up at the man with furrowed eyebrows.

“I'm sorry. We were just resting. We'll get back to it right now!"

To Maria's surprise, Enzo answered the man very politely and even bowed slightly.

“Rest? What's happening to you college kids now? If you weren't up to the task, you should have never come. Nobody makes you to anyway!" the man spat out coldly and ruthlessly.

Enzo's face flushed in embarrassment, but he didn't retort.

The more timid Dora didn't even lift her head up, talkless of saying anything. She even looked like she was going to burst into tears anytime soon.

“Where is this arrogance from?"

Fed up with the man's attitude, Maria suddenly asked.

The volunteers snapped their heads at her in dismay while the staff glared at her.

He pointed at Maria and asked angrily, "Are you... Are you talking about me?"

Maria scoffed and chuckled dryly.

Then she stared back intensely at him and said, "Well, of course I'm talking to you!

No one else is having an attitude problem here anyway!"

Enzo, Dora and other volunteers stared at Maria as though she was crazy.

How could she so blatantly offend the staff of the Writers’ Association?

Just one word from the staff, and all the volunteers present would be driven out. None of them would get the opportunity to watch the activity if the staff got angry.

"Oh God, please... I don't want to be driven out..." Dora silently prayed in her heart.

Unfortunately, her prayer didn't seem to be answered.

The man was just too angry by Maria's insolence to let it go.

“You... How dare you... All of you, get out now! Now!" He pointed at each of them as he spoke. First at Maria, then at Enzo and Dora, and finally at all the other volunteers around them. "You no longer have the right to be here!

I want you all to leave, right now!"
