Maria looked up and belatedly realized that they were inside a small noodle restaurant.

The place looked quite confined, certainly not enough space to cater to customers at rush hour.

It looked like the noodle restaurant was struggling to survive against the other, much Larger and fancier restaurants in the area.

She caught a hint of mischief behind his eyes, but it was gone in a split second.

Right there and then, she made the conscious decision to cherish Anthony for as long as she could, because of the gentle and loving way he protected her dignity.

The two bowl of noodles, plus a couple of extra side dishes, only cost Maria a little over fifty dollars.

She was quite pleased as she paid the bill, and it showed on her face. But when she turned to Anthony, she found him frowning at his phone.

“What's wrong?" Maria asked curiously.

"Jack is injured. He lost in a fighting competition back at the Wilson residence."

“What? A competition?"

Maria was surprised to hear this.

Jack was a prized bodyguard of the Wilson family, and he worked closely with the family's direct heir, Anthony himself. His combat strength should be above anyone else's.

For one thing, he was certainly different from the typical bodyguards, who only knew how to swagger in their black suits and dark shades. Jack was proficient in fighting and shooting.

Maria was well aware of this.

“Who did he Lose to?" she asked curiously.

“A man named Colin. He is known as the top one of the Wilson family's security team." Anthony added, “Colin is only responsible for protecting my Uncle Raymond, though.”

Maria nodded.

The bodyguards of the Wilson family were spread out among the members, and each of them had a specific target to protect. So this Colin was assigned to Raymond.

It was also worth mentioning that all the men in the Wilson family's security team hailed from a colorful background, in one way or another.

The moment they signed up to protect the Wilson family, they had to give up their original identities and work wholeheartedly for the Wilson family.

Since Colin was able to beat Jack, it was clear that the man was really something.
