Chapter: 981
Raymond said, narrowing his eyes at the man on the treatment table. Colin nodded, setting his lips into a firm line. "Thank you for trusting me, sir. I will be your loyal servant until my Last breath.”
Smiling with satisfaction, Raymond ordered one of his men to retrieve the pills.
Another ten days passed.
“Jack, how are you feeling now?" Betsey asked worriedly.
Jack was taking the pills Maria gave him and practicing karate she taught him every day, and he had stopped practicing the ancient martial arts.
However, since he was in good health and there was nothing wrong with him, Betsey didn't have any reason to voice out her concerns.
After finishing a set of movements, Jack was doing some exercises.
“Hmm... Not bad.
I just broke through to level four."
“Level... Level four?! How?" Betsey had accompanied Jack every day, but she was still shocked to hear that he had made a breakthrough yet again.
Meanwhile, she remained at level one, and the gap between her and Jack had never felt so stark.
She never imagined that they would one day have the weight of three levels between them.
Betsey soon came back to her senses and voiced out a crucial question.
“If that is the case, does that mean that Miss Jenkins is a master as well? What do you think her level is?"
She couldn't think of any other viable explanation for what was happening.
Maria did not appear to be a warrior in any way, powerful or otherwise. Even her karate didn't seem particularly remarkable.
But if she was able to train a martial artist and propel him to level four in a short amount of time, she must be far superior than any of them had ever thought.
Jack shook his head. "Miss Jenkins' level? I don't know."
"You don't know? How come?" Betsey asked in surprise.
"I honestly have no idea what level Miss Jenkins is."
Betsey blinked, bewildered by his response.
So even Jack was unable to discern the extent of Maria's strength?
There could only be two reasons for this-either Maria far exceeded level four, or she was just a normal person who never practiced martial arts.
Betsey pondered this for a long while, and finally decided to go with the most rational possibility.
