Although Maria possessed those miraculous pills and a mysterious karate style, she was still just an ordinary person at the end of the day.

It was probably the combination of those pills and the combat knowledge that she had imparted with Jack that enabled him to progress this far.

“That must be it. There is no other explanation," Betsey murmured to herself.

Maria lounged on the sofa Languidly, Like a cat.

A classic drama from twenty years ago was playing on the huge TV screen. Betsey had long since noticed that Maria was fond of watching this type of TV series. Although, she did not understand what Maria Liked about them, as these programs were quite obsolete.

"Miss Jenkins, I noticed that you like watching TV series. Would you like me to recommend some of the new releases?" Betsey offered.

Despite her wariness toward Maria, she was still grateful to her for helping Jack.

“No, thanks," Maria answered.

She shifted to a more comfortable position, her eyes never leaving the TV.

“Well... Miss Jenkins, may I ask why you like watching these dramas?" In the end, Betsey could not resist asking.

Maria gave her a short glance and said, "I'm trying to learn how to act."

These veteran actors were excellent in their craft.

Betsey was taken aback, as she had not expected this.

She recalled hearing that Maria was about to play the heroine of an upcoming movie.

As a martial artist, however, Betsey rarely paid attention to the affairs of the common people, especially those in the entertainment circle.

Now that the subject had come up, she found herself wondering why Maria would bother herself with acting when she was already wealthier than most celebrities. She even had those powerful pills at her disposal. How much did a movie star make, anyway?

Maybe millions? Or tens of millions?

But even that shouldn't be enough to cover the amount of pills Maria had given Jack.

“So acting... can also be learned by watching TV at home?" Betsey asked herself.

Betsey now had absolute trust in Maria, mainly because of Jack.

And so, she believed Maria's words, no matter how ridiculous they might have initially sound.

Just then, Anthony came over to the sofa in his electric wheelchair. Maria immediately sat up straight when she saw him, Like a student being called to attention in class.
