Chapter: 1912
After ending the call, Bettie placed Lance's phone in the compartment beside her.
At the police station.
Once they had finished taking statements from Bettie and Lance, the policeman turned to Lance and inquired, "So, how did you stumble upon the flour factory?"
Lance then recounted the events.
“Sabrina? Is she a friend of yours?" The policeman was surprised.
Lance confirmed, "Yes, she is.”
"And how did she come to know about the kidnapping?"
"I'm not sure. She'll be here shortly. You could ask her then."
The policeman glanced at his colleague and nodded. “Moving on. Who is Keilani?"
Bettie broke the silence, saying, "Keilani's full name is Keilani Wilson. She's Royce's niece."
Grabbing a drink of water, the policeman asked without thinking, “And who is Royce?"
Bettie remained silent but raised her index finger toward the ceiling.
Grasping the implication immediately, the policeman was taken aback.
He cleared his throat and questioned, “Do you have any issues with her, Miss Ramirez?"
"We've had our differences..." Bettie began to share with the policemen the issues she had with Keilani.
Bettie explained the events happening in Linbourne and Mathias. "I think it's because I accidentally damaged her car with Sabrina last time. She's probably been looking for a way to get back at us but hasn't found the right opportunity. It seems she decided to target me instead."
The policeman shifted his gaze away while listening.
Once Bettie stopped talking, the policeman got up and announced, “Please stay here for a moment. I need to step out."
After his departure, the other policeman in the room also left.
Only Bettie and Lance remained in the interrogation room.
