Chapter: 1913
Bettie leaned over to Lance and murmured, “They've probably gone to inform their leaders."
"Right," Lance replied. "I'm going to step outside and make a call."
“Sure.”
Lance called Royce's secretary. The call was quickly transferred to Royce.
Lance briefly explained the situation to Royce, expressing his desire to teach Keilani a lesson. He mentioned that, without any lessons, Keilani would continue to act recklessly.
Royce agreed. When the police station leader called him, Royce outlined a plan for handling the situation, as Lance had suggested.
The leader of the police station understood Royce's instructions and directed his team, "Go arrest her and ensure she faces consequences here at the station. Got it?"
The policeman responded affirmatively, "Yes, sir."
Three policemen set off to arrest Keilani.
As for Keilani's location, Lance decided to help the police by giving Keilani a call.
When she heard her plan didn't work, Keilani was so frightened that she hid herself in Royce's place. The sight of the incoming call from Lance drained the color from her face. Her hand shook so much that she nearly dropped the phone.
Keilani mustered the courage to pick up just as the call was about to disconnect. Trying to sound composed, she asked, "Lance?"
Lance sounded calm. "Did you eat yet? I'll go back with some takeouts. Want me to grab anything for you?"
At his words, Keilani let out a sigh of relief. "No, I've already eaten. Thanks."
"Alright. See you later." Lance hung up and said in a neutral tone to the policemen, "She's in Royce's place. I'll come with you."
“Sounds good."
The moment Lance stepped into the interrogation room, he told Bettie, "I've got to step out with the police. You can wait here for me to return or for Sabrina's arrival."
“Am I okay to go now?" Bettie got up and approached him.
“Yes, you're good."
“Then I'll wait for Sabrina outside."
