Chapter: 1915
Keilani, burning with anger and feeling hurt being slapped by Lance, had tears in her eyes. “How could you hit me? I'll have my father throw you out of the Wilson family!"
“Before you talk to our dad, maybe you should explain yourself at the police station."
No sooner had Lance said than three uniformed police officers burst in, taking Keilani into custody.
Caught off guard, Keilani panicked, her fear evident as she screamed, “Let me go! Do you have any idea who I am? Whose house do you think this is? My uncle is Royce! Let me go! Otherwise, I'll show you what I'm capable of!"
Alice stayed quiet, doing her best to stay out of sight.
The policeman swiftly handcuffed Keilani, retorting, "Royce? Name-dropping won't save you now. Take her away! And gag her!"
Since the police had come searching for her, how could they be unaware that this was Royce's residence? But they still proceeded to arrest her! Keilani was hit with a wave of despair. She turned to Lance like she was clutching at straws, tears streaming down her face.
"I was wrong, so wrong! Please, help me! I can't end up in jail!"
Lance paid no attention to Keilani's cries and allowed the police to escort Keilani to the vehicle, despite her tears and protests.
As Lance walked away, Alice let out a quiet sigh of relief.
But, as he reached the gate, Lance paused to throw a chilling glance back at Alice.
Alice averted her gaze, stood up, and followed behind Lance. With a heavy heart, she said, “Lance, this is on me. I should have intervened when Keilani first thought of harming others."
Lance seemed not to hear her and continued on his path.
Shortly afterward, two policemen returned and approached Alice, declaring, "You're implicated in aiding the suspect. You need to come with us."
Alice found herself at a loss for words.
A few moments after Lance and the police departed from the police station, Sabrina made her way to the police station.
“Sabrina.” Upon seeing Sabrina, Bettie got to her feet and signaled Sabrina over.
“Bettie!" Overjoyed, Sabrina rushed over, grabbed Bettie'’s hand and expressed her relief, “I'm so glad you're okay! I was terrified!"
Bettie embraced Sabrina and planted a kiss on her cheek, saying, “I owe you my safety. If you hadn't acted swiftly, I could have been in danger. Thank you, Sabrina."
Sabrina replied, "It was Tyrone who alerted me. Thankfully, he did. It was a close call."
