Chapter: 1916
“Tyrone? What happened?"
Sabrina then explained how Keilani had forcefully pushed Jennie, leading to Jennie's car incident. “Tyrone sensed something was off. He warned me that Keilani might target me, but while I stayed indoors, I felt the danger was directed at you instead."
Bettie was shocked, exclaiming, "She caused Jennie's car accident? What's her deal? Jennie is her biological daughter!"
"I couldn't believe it myself until Jennie told me about it upon waking. Tyrone also verified it through security footage."
"She's lost her mind!" Bettie couldn't hide her anger. "With her influential background, even if the police detain her now, she'll likely be released in no time."
"Is that what Lance said?"
"Indeed."
Sabrina commented, “She deserves a harsher punishment! But something puzzles me. She went after you because she couldn't confront me. She had harmed Jennie to distract Tyrone but did nothing to distract Lance. Why would she do that?"
“Hard to say. We'll probably understand more once the policemen have had a chance to interrogate Keilani." Bettie curled her lips.
The police took Sabrina's account of the events, documented everything, and confirmed it with the traffic police unit. This resulted in an additional charge against Keilani.
As Sabrina left the interrogation room, she walked toward Bettie. The glass door swung open, revealing a scene filled with cries and shouts.
Keilani was brought in by two policemen. She sobbed and screamed, "Release me! I need to contact my uncle! Let me go!"
It appeared Keilani had been shouting for quite a while, as her voice sounded hoarse.
The sight of Keilani ignited a fury in Bettie, reminding her of her recent ordeal. Her eyes sparkled with rage. She couldn't contain it any longer.
Bettie leaped up, stormed toward Keilani, delivered two sharp slaps, and said, "You monster! May you rot in hell..." Her outburst echoed through the hall.
It took the two policemen a brief moment to respond before they managed to pull Bettie back. "Please, Miss Ramirez, keep your cool!"
Keilani snapped out of her daze, glaring at Bettie with fury. Being restrained by the police, she could do nothing but stand there, seething. She stamped her feet and yelled, “Bettie! I swear, you'll pay for this! Just you wait!"
The commotion drew the attention of the on-duty policemen.
"Sir, you've heard her threats. If I ever meet an untimely end, she's the one behind it!" Bettie declared.
Keilani, restrained by the police, was unable to retaliate against Bettie.
