Chapter: 1917
The police quickly escorted Keilani further inside.

Throughout the way, Keilani resisted and continued to voice her protests loudly, "Release me! Can't you see she attacked me first? This is so unfair! I need to inform my uncle! Lance, are you just going to stand there and watch me suffer? Won't you intervene?"

"You brought this on yourself! Forget about your uncle. Can't you grasp his lack of concern for you? Fool! You're such a fool!"

Bettie was itching to add more, but Lance pulled her back, gently urging, "No need to waste your breath on her."

As Keilani was being led past Sabrina, she glared fiercely and screamed, "Sabrina, you bitch! This is all because of you! Let me go. I demand to speak with your chief!"

Keilani blamed Sabrina for her situation, suggesting if not for Sabrina, Lance wouldn't have put her in jail.

Sabrina was dumbfounded. Was Keilani out of her mind? What was she thinking?

Alice, on the other hand, chose to remain silent, bowing her head, wishing to go unnoticed.

The two policemen, eager to avoid further commotion, hastened Keilani into the interrogation room. Once the door shut, Keilani's voice was no longer audible.

Near the entrance of an office, Rita, having witnessed the scene, was filled with curiosity. She pulled out some documents and casually asked a nearby policeman, “What was all that commotion about?"

The policeman, preferring to remain noncommittal, simply said, “I'm not sure."

Rita offered a knowing smile but kept her thoughts to herself. She quietly instructed her assistant, “Find out what just happened.."

After making her point, Rita glanced over and spotted Sabrina a short distance away.

"Why can't I have it out with her?" Bettie turned to Lance with a questioning look and a playful smirk.

"Would you retaliate against a dog if it bit you?"

Bettie found herself at a loss for words. She eyed Lance with a mix of suspicion and curiosity, saying, "She seemed to be seeking your assistance just now, Lance."

"Yes. Is there a problem?"

“Nothing specific. It's just that her plea seemed a bit odd to me.”

Bettie frowned. It appeared as though Lance was expected to intervene.

Sabrina made her way over to Bettie and Lance. She briefly hesitated upon seeing Rita and then approached Bettie as if nothing had happened, saying, “Keilani is out of her mind. She lashes out at everyone she encounters. Bettie, you were quite the sight just now!"

“ALL I know is that Keilani pushed me too far!" Bettie let out a huff. Had the police not intervened, she might have landed a few more slaps on Keilani.

“Thanks a lot for today." Lance gave Sabrina a nod, acknowledging her support.

“Bettie is my friend. Naturally, I'll step in to help," Sabrina said with a smile. "They might keep her for questioning until late. Bettie, we should head back."

“Sounds good." Bettie turned around, ready to leave. It was getting late. She planned to buy a new phone and get a new SIM card the next day.

Just as Bettie and Sabrina were about to leave, they heard Lance greet someone, “Hello, Rita."

At that, Sabrina looked back and noticed Rita had approached without them noticing.

Bettie pivoted to see a sophisticated woman, accompanied by an assistant carrying a folder.

Rita acknowledged Lance with a nod and asked, "What brings you here? What's going on?"

"It's nothing major. There's no need for concern," Lance said.

Rita nodded with a friendly smile before turning to Sabrina, saying, “I thought you were in Philade? When did you get back?"

“That's none of your concern," Sabrina said with a cold tone, barely lifting her eyes.

Rita gave Sabrina a brief look, let out a dismissive snort, and then turned her attention back to Lance, declaring, "I've got other matters to attend to, so I'll be leaving now."

"Farewell, Rita."

Bettie watched Rita depart with a curious gaze and whispered, "Who is she?"

Sabrina replied, "That's my mother."
