Chapter: 1919
According to Alice, Keilani found out about Sabrina's pregnancy, felt threatened, and intended to hurt Sabrina. However, the presence of Sabrina's two bodyguards prevented Keilani, forcing her to kidnap Bettie instead to lure Sabrina out. Alice claimed her attempts to reason with Keilani were in vain.
No matter how much the police pressed her, Keilani just sat there, unmoved, saying nothing but, "I want Lance to come see me."
The young officer exited the interrogation room, looking frustrated.
He felt unlucky to deal with this challenging case today.
Lance approached and inquired, “She's not talking?"
The officer expressed his frustration, “Not yet. She won't speak a word, and there's nothing I can do to make her talk. Also, she mentioned she wants to see you."
"Let her have some time to herself tonight. I'll visit her tomorrow,"
Lance replied. "There's no need to pressure her. Just take care of what's necessary."
"Got it." The officer got the message loud and clear that Keilani's situation wasn't typical. He decided to take Lance's suggestion to heart and planned to handle it the following day.
In the interrogation room, Keilani slumped back in her chair, her expression tight, gaze lowered, completely still. She waited patiently. Yet, even after a considerable wait, Lance didn't appear.
Keilani was all by herself in the small, box-like room. The room was soundproof, making it eerily silent.
A wave of fear began to wash over Keilani, her heart pounding. Was Lance planning to just leave her here, disregarded?
"Hello? Is anybody there?" she called out.
But there was no response.
“Hello? Can anyone hear me? I'm ready to talk..." Her voice shook.
Again, there was only silence.
Keilani had no choice but to keep waiting.
After what seemed like forever, she was worn out, starving, and sleepy.
She nodded off briefly. Suddenly, she felt like she was falling and jolted awake to find herself still alone in the interrogation room.
She had no idea what time it was.
