Chapter: 1965
After class, Jennie waited at the kindergarten’s entrance with her teacher. Her eyes roamed, searching for the familiar face of the driver, but instead, her gaze landed on a distinct figure. The figure had deep-set eyes, light blue irises, and stood tall in a sharp suit.
It was the same foreign elderly gentleman she had seen at the mall previously.
Elsewhere, Sabrina was interrupted during her meal by a phone call.
The screen displayed the kindergarten principal's name.
Upon answering, the principal's worried voice came through. "Ms. Chavez, is Jennie with you?"
“No, she's not," Sabrina replied, feeling a sudden surge of concern as she put aside her fork. “Is Jennie missing again?"
“Yes, I'm about to notify Jennie's father and the authorities. Please inform us immediately if Jennie arrives at your place!"
“WELL do."
The call was brief, and the principal hung up swiftly.
Losing her appetite, Sabrina still tried to eat a bit more, considering her pregnancy.
Shortly after, she called Tyrone.
Aware of the situation from the principal, Tyrone understood her concern and comforted her, "Don't worry. Just stay at home and keep calm. I'm on it. We'll find Jennie."
“What happened to her?"
"She wandered off by herself."
Sabrina couldn't help but comment silently, “Jennie is quite the handful!"
“Stay positive. Jennie is clever and she'll be fine. It's likely just a mix-up."
“Okay, just keep me in the loop and do what you need to do," Sabrina said. Realizing her contribution might be limited, she knew Tyrone was more capable in this situation.
After her attempt to eat, Sabrina sat in the living room, opened her laptop to work, but her concentration was scattered. She frequently glanced at her phone, eager for any update.
An hour had passed since she last conversed with the principal. It was becoming less likely that Jennie would just turn up at her home.
What places might Jennie have explored?
