Chapter: 2011
Yet, Sabrina, undeterred, flashed a smile at Kaleb. "Mr. Wilson, I'll take Jennie with me now, and I promise to bring her back to your place later tonight."
Naturally, Sabrina grasped Kaleb's intentions. But why would she always have to do things his way?
Should Keilani desire Jennie's affection, she needed to earn it with sincerity and patience, not by pushing Sabrina away. If Keilani stuck to her own ways of being nice, Jennie wouldn't grow fond of Keilani even when Sabrina was out of the picture.
White's face grew stern. Jennie had been speaking a different language, a detail that initially escaped everyone's notice except for Sabrina and Kaleb.
When White caught the latter part of their conversation, he realized Jennie was Kaleb's granddaughter and that Jennie shared a close bond with Sabrina. Yet, Sabrina appeared far from being sensible, seemingly unaware Kaleb's obvious reluctance of letting Jennie leave with her. She had just upset Kaleb again!
Unable to hold back, White intervened, “Sabrina, aren't you supposed to be hurrying to edit those photos? The magazine needs to go to the printers soon, and there's no time for outings."
Kaleb's eyes twinkled with appreciation for White's direct approach.
White stood with an air of authority, eyeing Sabrina with a hint of skepticism.
"Don't worry. I'll make the deadline," Sabrina replied with confidence.
Yesterday, when Sabrina had taken on the photo shoot assignment, she and Docie Navarro, the editor-in-chief of the entertainment magazine, had agreed on delivering four polished photos within three days.
Considering a half-day delay minor, Sabrina planned to prioritize Kaleb's photos, as the finance magazine's images didn't need as much attention to detail, and the entertainment magazine's deadline was more flexible.
White pressed on, “And what if you don't make it on time? The entire schedule could be thrown off. If the magazine can't get to press as planned..."
“If I don't meet the deadline, I'll just settle it by compensating as per the contract," Sabrina interrupted, unfazed.
White was left speechless. Her answer seemed logical, but when push came to shove, White was overwhelmed with frustration.
"Oh, come on! If Sabrina falls short, I'll cover for her," Jennie announced, her hands on her hips as she fixed White with a stern Look.
Jennie had amassed a significant sum in her piggy bank and even owned shares in Tyrone's business. Although Tyrone was currently at the helm, she was looking forward to a dividend check at the end of the year!
Observing the scene, Kaleb stepped in, glanced at Sabrina, and suggested, "Alright, take Jennie out for some fun, and ensure she's back by nine tonight."
"Okay, then we're off," Sabrina agreed.
“Bye, grandpa!" Jennie chimed in, following Sabrina out with a cheerful wave.
“How has your stay been at your grandfather's?" Sabrina inquired as they strolled along.
