Chapter: 2015
Kira's face fell.

Horace sighed, watching her reaction. “We aren't young anymore, Kira. One day, we'll be gone. Our children are grown, and it's time for us to find peace. If you stir up trouble, it won't just affect us. It'll also bring shame to our children..."

"No! I can't accept this!" Tears streamed down Kira's face as she looked at Horace with despair. "I can't accept it! That night, I knew you loved me, Horace! I've spent decades enduring this pain, living for others. My time is running out, and I want to live for myself! I can't bear it any longer!"

Kira took out a jade token from her pocket. It was a delicate white jade, but the carving was quite simple, which didn't match its inherent value.

She caressed it with an affectionate look. "Horace, do you remember this? It's been so many years, but I still keep it."

Horace stared at the jade token, stunned and silent.

"I still remember," Kira murmured. “It was the birthday gift you had for me. You learned from a master and carved it yourself. You told me you wished for my safety and happiness. But you know what? The hardest part of my Life is not being able to be with you..."

Kira's words struck a chord with Horace. He muttered, "Kira, let the past stay in the past..."

"No!" Kira suddenly grabbed his hand tightly, refusing to let go.

"The past isn't gone, Horace. If we have the courage to pursue it, we can reclaim it and go back to how things used to be."

Tears welled up in her eyes. "You don't understand. Tyrone hates me, my mother despises me, and my father's gone... Horace, you're all I have left! I've waited for you all these years. Do you really want to leave me alone for the rest of my life?"

Horace swallowed hard. He had come here determined to sever all ties with Kira, But now, seeing the sorrow in her eyes, he couldn't bring himself to be so heartless.

Kira once had a relationship with Horace and knew he was easily swayed by emotions. Hadn't Rita managed to sleep with him by constantly playing the victim in front of him?

Kira seized the moment, wiped her tears, and said, “Horace, I understand your concerns. I'm not asking you to divorce her. I've just been lonely for so long. If you could spend some time with me, I'd be more than happy!"

How lonely it should be to be alone in a foreign country for decades.

Horace sighed and took Kira's hand. “Alright.”

“Horace? You agree? That's wonderful! I knew you wouldn't leave me alone!" Kira's face lit up with sheer joy. Now that she had started this, she could push Rita out little by little!

Kira sneered inwardly, “Just wait and see, Rita! And Sabrina!"

Horace was about to respond when he heard a familiar voice behind him. "Horace? Hadn't you gone to the office? Who is this?"

Startled by the voice, Horace quickly pulled his hand back, stood up, and saw Rita approaching. “Why are you here?" he asked, his surprise poorly masked.
