Chapter: 2020
“And did you know there's something suspicious about the minibus driver?"
"What?"
“Yesterday, a large sum of money was suddenly transferred into his account. The incident was planned."
Allen's investigation suggested it was no accident and someone had planned for Sabrina's car to crash. But the fact that she walked away with just bruises raised questions.
Kaleb was skeptical, sensing something amiss. To think one's incompetence could lead to messing up a basic car crash was unbelievable.
“Did you track down the money transfer?" Kaleb inquired. “Do you think Sabrina did this all on her own?"
"No. I don't think so." After a moment's hesitation, Allen revealed, "The transfer came from a girl named Rose, Kira's assistant."
Kaleb had heard that Kira, Tyrone's biological mother, was the first to discover Keilani's so-called mistake in entering the wrong room where she got intimate with Tyrone and bore Jennie. Regarding this incident, Kira had convinced Keilani not to call the police.
Not too long ago, Kira and Keilani had visited the Blakely family in Mathias to reunite with Jennie.
Kaleb had always seen Kira as cunning and manipulative. Despite his dislike for her, he could tell it was clear she wasn't fond of Sabrina, which made him suspect that she might be behind the supposed accident. And Keilani would benefit from Sabrina's demise.
After pondering for a moment, Kaleb instructed, "Let's leave this to the police.”
For Jennie's sake, Kaleb wouldn't touch Sabrina. What others did was none of his business, and he intended to stay out of it. If the police uncovered it, then it would be great. If not, it was Sabrina's tough luck.
“Yes, sir," Allen replied.
After ending the call, Kaleb returned to Sabrina's ward and discovered Jennie was reluctant to leave after seeing Sabrina. He managed to convince Jennie to leave, suggesting it was best not to disturb Sabrina.
Bella, who had originally planned to see Sabrina off at the airport, rushed to the hospital when she heard about Sabrina's incident. She was relieved to find Sabrina unharmed.
Horace was handling business at a branch office when Rita's urgent call came through.
As soon as he answered, Rita's voice came through, tinged with panic.
“Horace, Sabrina's been in an accident on her way to the airport. You need to come get me and take me to the hospital. She's pregnant. We can't let anything happen to her!"
Upon hearing this, Horace stood up abruptly, left his office, and assured her, "I understand. I'm on my way. Don't worry!"
He gave quick instructions to his secretary and told his driver to collect Rita from her hotel and head to the hospital.
