Chapter: 2023
Believing Horace desired a romantic reunion, Kira was elated. She dressed hastily and hurried to the restaurant, glowing with anticipation.
However, the meeting did not unfold as she had envisioned. Instead of a warm greeting, Horace met her with a frosty stare. "Kira, you've disappointed me," he declared coldly.
Confusion swept over Kira.
“Horace? Why would you say that?" Kira was puzzled.
Horace gazed at her with disappointment and said, "I thought you were merely stubborn, but I never imagined you'd be this extreme. You're quite malicious!"
“Horace, what's going on? Why are you accusing me like this?" Facing Horace, Kira felt unfairly treated.
“Don't you understand what I'm referring to? Are you pretending to be ignorant?"
"Please. Horace, I honestly don't understand what you're talking about!"
Seeing her refusal to confess, Horace snorted. "Perhaps I should remind you. What did you instruct Rose to do?"
Kira was shocked, and a glint of guilt flickered in her eyes. Had he discovered what she had instructed Rose to do?
Observing her guilty look, Horace laughed in anger. "Kira, since when did you become so heartless? Sabrina is carrying Tyrone's baby. How could you act so cruelly toward her?"
Kira turned pale. He had indeed found out. "Horace, please let me explain..."
In a panic, she attempted to clarify, but Horace cut her off. "You wish to explain? If it weren't for the bodyguards' quick actions to avert the car crash, Sabrina might already be in the morgue!"
Kira was shocked and bewildered. "A car incident? What are you talking about?"
“Are you still pretending? Drop the act!" Horace expressed his dismay at her stubbornness. “When Sabrina was heading to the airport, a minibus nearly hit her. The driver was arrested by the police. They've determined it was Rose's doing. Do you still claim it has nothing to do with you?"
"I didn't! I never ordered Rose to orchestrate a car incident to harm Sabrina!" Kira defended herself innocently.
Her words were true. She had not orchestrated the incident. She understood what mattered most to men. Tyrone would not easily overlook that Sabrina was pregnant and had a child when studying abroad. She had planned to exploit this to drive a wedge between Tyrone and Sabrina, but it was merely a plan. Staging a car incident was too risky and obvious. She wouldn't take that chance.
Kira felt deeply misunderstood. Yet Horace believed she was lying. He scoffed. "You're saying you didn't orchestrate this? So, Rose acted on her own accord? What grudge did she hold against Sabrina? Why would she attempt to kill Sabrina?"
"I... How would I know? Horace, think about it. This type of scheme would be uncovered quickly. How could I be involved in such a thing?"
Kira had indeed no part in Rose's actions of harming Sabrina.
