Chapter: 2066
Jennie gasped. "Why would grandfather do that?"
"He blamed me for Keilani getting detained. He wanted to cause trouble for me." Lance bent down and whispered, "So, I will handle it myself. You don't need to get involved."
Jennie nodded. "Okay."
"Let's go back."
"Then... Should I tell Bettie?"
"You could tell her."
With Lance's permission, Jennie returned to the room. She felt helpless and hoped Lance would know what to do.
Back in the room, Jennie sat beside Bettie, who was focused on the film. She tugged on Bettie's sleeve and whispered, “Bettie.”
"What?" Bettie asked, still watching the screen. Jennie seemed odd today.
"Your husband is my uncle."
The film's sound was loud, and Bettie was so engrossed that she didn't hear clearly. “What did you say?"
Jennie raised her voice. "I said your husband is my uncle!"
As soon as Jennie finished speaking, Bettie and Sabrina turned to look at her abruptly.
Sabrina asked in disbelief, "Jennie, what did you say?"
Jennie glanced at both of them and said quietly, “Bettie's husband is my uncle."
Bettie's eyes widened, and her voice trembled as she hastily rejected the idea. "That's impossible, right? I've heard your uncle's voice before, but..."
"That was fake. Lance is my uncle. I suspected it on the wedding day but wasn't sure, so I came here to confirm it," Jennie explained.
"Bettie, have you seen his passport? His real name is Caesar Wilson."
Lance had changed his nationality in Philade. He only had a Dracwynne passport and a temporary residence certificate for Zimbab.
Hearing this, Sabrina looked at Bettie with concern. She knew Lance's other name was Caesar but assumed it was just a name he used while studying abroad. She didn't realize it was his real name.
