Chapter: 2067
Bettie was shocked. She realized she hadn't seen Lance's passport yet.

When they bought the house, they had used her ID card, and they had never got a marriage certificate. Even so, she believed Jennie.

The signs were everywhere. For instance, Lance had praised Keilani's brother in front of her but, in reality, he was praising himself.

Another example was when Keilani was taken to the police station after orchestrating the kidnapping. Keilani had said, “Lance, are you just going to stand there and watch me suffer?" Given her words, it seemed Lance had to save her because he was her brother.

While Bettie was in Centenia, she mistook Keilani for Lance's girlfriend. When he clarified that Keilani was his sister, she assumed Lance treated Keilani like family.

And Royce's high regard for Lance wasn't due to his overseas return but because Lance was his nephew.

Furthermore, in Hailand, Lance didn't disclose the identity of the person who had taken him away back then. He insisted he wouldn't be with Bettie until she knew everything.

At that moment, Bettie had her doubts. Lance spoke vaguely, hinting at something significant happening next. If he truly wanted to keep her out of it, he would have distanced himself like he did seven years ago, rather than both enticing and rejecting her. To her, his refusals seemed more like an act.

Lance feared Bettie wouldn't accept him once his identity was revealed, so he waited until she could.

If Bettie were naive, she might have been swayed by Lance's actions.

Bettie might not understand others’ thoughts, but she could read Lance's. With so many signs, she believed Jennie's words without further inquiry.

“Jennie, you just saw him outside, didn't you?" Bettie asked.

Jennie nodded.

"Did he ask you to tell me this?"

Jennie nodded once more.

"Bettie..." Sabrina held Bettie's hand and consoled her. "Do you want to invite him in and clear things up?"

"No." Bettie smiled and replied, “Let's just continue watching the film. Don't let him ruin our mood."

It seemed Bettie intended to handle this matter privately. Sabrina agreed. "Okay, if there's anything you can't sort out, just let me know. We'll tackle it together."

"Alright."

Lance didn't come back to the room.
