Chapter: 2068
Sabrina and Jennie left before lunch. Before they left, Lance appeared and saw them off with Bettie.
Until their car disappeared from view, Lance gazed at Bettie and said “Let's head back."
"Okay."
Back in the living room, Bettie looked at Lance calmly, her expression devoid of any emotion. "Don't you have something to tell me?"
"Bettie, I don't want to lose you."
Bettie cast a dispassionate glance at Lance and said, "I have some questions for you, and I need detailed answers."
"Go ahead. I'll share everything I know." Lance's smile carried a hint of flattery.
Bettie snorted. Tell her everything he knew? Why didn't he act that way before?
“The man who took you seven years ago, he's Keilani's father, isn't he?" Bettie asked.
"Yes." Lance nodded.
“He adopted you?" Bettie wondered whether Lance became Keilani's stepbrother.
Lance shook his head and let out a sigh. “He's my biological father. I didn't realize it until he came for me that year."
"So, does that mean Keilani is your actual sister?" Bettie raised her eyebrows.
Gazing into Bettie's eyes, Lance hesitated before admitting, "Yes."
"Why have you hidden your true identity?"
“At first, I just wanted to meet you again as Lance and tell you about me bit by bit. It wasn't my intention to hide it from you... But as things between you and Keilani worsened, along with your animosity toward Keilani's family, I worried that revealing my true identity might push you to cut me off completely."
“Jennie knew who you are, so she was in Philade on our wedding day. Was that orchestrated by you and your family?"
"What my father has done fits with what I expected."
"So, Jennie returned and you went on a business trip to Hailand. Was that part of a plan?"
"Yes,"
