Chapter: 2074
While they waited in the hallway for the results, Sabrina caught sight of a familiar figure. "Shirley?"
At her call, Shirley turned around. Seeing Sabrina's slightly enlarged abdomen, she exclaimed, “Sabrina? Are you here for a prenatal check-up? Congratulations!"
Only then did Shirley notice Tyrone sitting beside Sabrina, and her heart fluttered.
Tyrone gave Shirley a brief, indifferent glance and then turned away as though he didn't recognize her.
Sabrina smiled. "Thank you."
Sabrina had intended to inquire about Shirley's health but hesitated, realizing they were in the gynecology department and Shirley must have a reason to be there. With Tyrone close by, she felt it was too intrusive to ask.
Instead, Sabrina shifted the topic. "What a coincidence. We'll see each other again tomorrow. Have you seen Marnie's baby yet?"
Shirley looked surprised. "What do you mean? Marnie had given birth? Already?"
This time, Sabrina was the one taken aback. “What? You didn't know? Haven't Sergio and Marnie told you?"
Shirley shook her head, clearly confused. “No, perhaps they mentioned it to my father, and he forgot to tell me."
Tyrone glanced at Shirley, his expression contemplative.
"That must be it." Sabrina smiled. "The baby reached its first month just the day before yesterday. They're celebrating at Moonlit Pavilion tomorrow."
"Tomorrow? I might not make it. I'll see if I can arrange something with my teacher," Shirley replied.
After a brief chat, Shirley hurried away. Tyrone's presence was too intense for her. She didn't want to linger around him.
Whenever Shirley saw Tyrone, memories of that night, as well as the stillborn child she had given birth to, would resurface.
Suddenly, Shirley halted, struck by a sudden realization. Marnie's baby reached its first month the day before yesterday, exactly a month since her own stillborn birth. Her baby had arrived early, not reaching full term, and given the timing with Marnie and Sergio, their baby must have been premature as well. Marnie had given birth but hadn't informed her. Was this merely a coincidence?
Upon returning to her home, Shirley directly questioned Wendell about it. He appeared confused. “What are you talking about? Marnie had already delivered? Jamal didn't tell me!"
Shirley's suspicions grew deeper.
The next morning, Tyrone collected Sabrina and Jennie and drove to Sergio's place.
A few minutes later, Sabrina got a call from Shirley.
