Chapter: 2075
Shirley asked, "Ms. Chavez, sorry to interrupt. Are you at Marnie's yet?"
Sabrina looked at the street outside the car window and said, “Not yet. We're on Lomberd Street. Why?"
Shirley explained, “My taxi had an accident at the junction of Orchard Road and Abby Road, and I can't find another cab. Can you pick me up?"
Sabrina didn't hesitate to agree since Shirley's location was on their way and they wouldn't need to go out of their way to pick her up.
“Are you with your dad?" Sabrina inquired.
“No, it's just me. My dad couldn't make it today," Shirley replied.
"Alright. Wait by the road. We'll be there in ten minutes," Sabrina instructed.
"Thanks, Ms. Chavez," Shirley said with a smile.
Shirley ended the call, deep in thought. If things were as she suspected, Marnie would surely avoid her at the party. Even if she went, she couldn't get near the baby. So, she needed to stick with Sabrina.
Fifteen minutes later, the car pulled up in front of Shirley.
The rear window rolled down, and Sabrina's lovely face appeared.
“Shirley, hop in."
Shirley glanced at Tyrone behind Sabrina and swallowed. "Alright."
With Sabrina and Jennie in the back, Shirley took the front seat.
Sergio and Marnie lived on the twelfth floor, with one apartment per floor.
When the elevator opened, Sergio saw Sabrina holding Jennie's hand, with Tyrone behind them.
Sergio welcomed them and playfully tousled Jennie's hair. “Hey everyone, come on in.”
Jennie smiled. "I'm here to see the little one."
“Sergio, congrats on becoming a father," Sabrina said.
"Thanks." Only then did Sergio notice Shirley's presence behind the group, his face etched with surprise. Marnie had told him a few days earlier that Shirley and her dad couldn't make it today.
