"You mentioned Lance and Bettie had tied the knot. What's the deal?"

“While you were locked up, they held a wedding in Mathias. I only found out then that it was Bettie he liked, not Sabrina."

Keilani seethed with anger. What a "good" brother Lance was! While she was behind bars, he was off getting hitched! And to Bettie of all people! The very person who had got her thrown in jail!

In Keilani's wild imagination, she had already pictured Bettie bossed around as her sister-in-law.

Keilani was livid. Lance had shown no concern for her feelings whatsoever. Since he was this heartless, she decided to be equally cold toward him.

Alice added, “From what I know, Bettie was his girlfriend even before he got sent to Philade. He really cared about her, and your uncle was there at their wedding."

“What about my father and mother?" Keilani asked through clenched teeth.

"They didn't attend the wedding. I'm not sure if Lance kept it from them or if they refused to attend.”

This made Keilani feel better.

“What's your plan now?" Alice inquired.

“Have you got any bright ideas?"

“Lance's too cunning. We can't touch him, unless your parents step in."

"Anything else?"

“He's in Mathias at the moment. We need to find a way to bring him back," Alice said and a sinister smile flashed through her face. Once Lance returned to Philade, handling Bettie in Mathias would be a piece of cake.

"I'll sort it out immediately."

Keilani's plan was straightforward.

One sunny afternoon, Keilani filled the bathtub with water and mixed in animals' blood. She dressed in a white gown, let her hair fall loose, and made a cut on her wrist before soaking herself in the water.

A servant witnessed this and hurriedly summoned Zandra.

Zandra nearly passed out at the shocking sight. She instructed the servant to get Keilani out of the water and dialed emergency services.

Then, she bandaged Keilani's wound. It was a chaotic scene.
