Chapter: 1033
Bennett chuckled, gazing at her.

"Worried that I won't pass the test?"

“Why wouldn't you? Mr. Dreskin, with all your talents, how could you possibly fail?"

She sure had a way with words, she mused.

Claudia was about to take a shower when she remembered that Bennett's father's birthday was coming up. It should be noted that Benico's birthday party held greater significance than the return of her uncle and aunt-in-law.

She had not seen or spoken to Benico in over three months. Up until now, Claudia still felt embarrassed whenever she remembered their last encounter.

She had been so audacious at that time, countering Benico's every statement with a retort.

She had not thought she would really marry Bennett, so she made no effort to win over his father and stepmother. She just focused on defending herself.

Now, she was officially Mrs. Dreskin.

Claudia glanced at the bathroom door before grabbing her phone to message Aurora.

“Aurora! Bennett's father's birthday party is next week. What should I do? Please reply to me as soon as possible.”

Aurora did not respond, much to Claudia's bewilderment and further anxiousness.

She tried refreshing the messaging app multiple times, but no message from Aurora came.

Claudia checked the time on the upper right corner of her phone's screen. It was still early, so Aurora should still be awake.

It was not even ten o'clock in the evening yet, so why was her friend not responding to her message?

Did something happen to Aurora?

Should Claudia call the police?

Indeed, Aurora was still awake.

She couldn't help pouring a glass of wine on her company's client.

She and her colleagues were having a dinner party. Their director was usually a stingy person, but he decided to reward his staff with a supper at a restaurant where each person typically spent one thousand dollars.

Up until about half an hour ago, Aurora was in a good mood after hearing the news around lunchtime.

They were enjoying a nice supper until the client showed up and insisted they have a drink with him. Aurora knew that refusing him would have negative consequences for the company.

Even the director, who was known for his haughty demeanor, drank some wine politely at the client's request.

Her coworkers also poured wine into their glasses and began drinking while chatting enthusiastically with the client. Aurora only joined them because the director spent quite a sum on their dinner tonight.
