Chapter: 1034
She thought the wine would save her from more trouble later on, but the client's constant nagging that she drink more only pissed her off even more. Usually, she did not mind being the recipient of such attention. If the client had said something nice, she might have relented.
But the client didn't say anything nice. Not only did he want to have a drink with her, but he also switched places with one of her female coworkers to get closer to her.
She had a high alcohol tolerance, so she was not worried about getting drunk.
Her irritation increased when the client suddenly grabbed her hand.
Aurora was not a fool. How could she not know what the man was doing?
She was being harassed.
Of course, there was no way she would put up with it.
She tried to calm herself down by thinking about the bonus she would receive afterward, but then the client placed a hand on her thigh and the remaining patience she had disappeared. She got right to her feet and splashed wine on the client's face.
Then, she snarled and began cursing at him.
Aurora would have beaten him up if her coworkers had not intervened.
The situation quickly escalated. The client got mad and started to jeer at her.
Because of her extreme rage, she retorted, "Kill me if you can!
Otherwise, leave me alone."
When the director realized that things were getting out of hand, he promptly ordered someone to remove Aurora from the scene.
In the restroom, Aurora washed her face and examined her reflection in the mirror, wondering why all of this was happening to her.
She did not want to work for the company any Longer.
She could not resign, though.
She was not financially stable enough to do so.
Aurora calmed down after washing her face, but then panic began to grip her.
Would the company fire her tomorrow for this incident?
In the end, though, she decided it was not that big of a deal. She was not an incompetent woman. If her current employer were to terminate her, she could always find work elsewhere and continue earning a living.
However, she was quite satisfied with her current job, and her coworkers were friendly. The director could be annoying sometimes, but he was actually a good person.
Aurora was thrilled and terrified at the same time.
Now that she had calmed down, she felt too embarrassed to return to their table. She gave her coworker, who brought her to the restroom, a quick glance before saying, "Please tell the director that I'm going home."
