Chapter: 1036
"That's not true! Open your eyes and take a closer look at me. I didn't cry! My face is only wet because I just washed it. Do you understand?"
She was not the type of person who shed tears easily.
Breck glanced at the hand clutching his collar, arched an eyebrow, and stepped closer to the woman.
He took a longer, closer look at her face.
As their noses touched, Aurora caught a whiff of the perfume Breck was wearing.
She had never smelled the scent before, so he must be wearing a customized perfume.
It smelled good.
The two were standing unusually close to each other. When Aurora realized what she was doing, she swiftly released her grip and said sheepishly, “I'm sorry. As I've said, I'm a bit drunk. I just drank something with an alcoholic level higher than what I usually consume."
Breck snorted.
"I'm not wrong. The rims of your eyes are red. You were crying."
Aurora sighed. She wanted to avoid the topic, but the man would not let her do so. Did he have low emotional intelligence?
Did Bennett not find this friend of his a little weird?
“They're red because I rubbed my eyes earlier."
“Dry your face with this.”
Aurora was momentarily taken aback as she looked at the tissue the man handed her. She hesitated for a split second before she grabbed it and said, "Thank you."
She was dabbing the tissue on her left eye when the client, who was still drenched in wine because of her, approached.
The director and her coworkers were following him.
Embarrassment crept into Aurora.
She did not regret splashing wine on the client, but she felt bad for the director.
She could have solved the matter with a more peaceful approach, but she went with the worst possible one.
Now, she was at a loss for what to do next.
As soon as the client caught sight of Aurora, his expression hardened into a scowl.
"You were so adamant about protecting your chastity earlier. But now, you're flirting with another man. I guess you aren't really that pure, are you?"
The client examined Breck from head to toe and noticed the multimillion-dollar watch he was wearing. Sneering, he questioned, "Do you think he's some sort of big shot just because he's wearing an expensive watch? You are wasting your time on him. He won't give you a penny. Oh, he won't even sleep with you."
