Chapter: 1071
As she recalled the grandeur of Benico's birthday celebration earlier in the evening, Claudia was filled with resolve. She unfastened her seat belt, exited the car, and circled around to the other side. She swung the door open and urged him, "Come on, let's climb the wall and sneak in!"
Why did no one care about his mother!
Why!
Bennett chuckled at her determined yet anxious look and said, "I haven't even unbuckled my seat belt yet."
"What? Oh! Let me help you with that."
Blushing, Claudia eased her hold on him, leaned in, and clicked open his seat belt buckle.
With a quick snap, the seat belt was released from Bennett's body.
Once he was freed, she gently tugged at him and said, "We should climb the wall from the side."
Hearing this, Bennett raised an eyebrow and said, “Claudia, sounds like you've done this before?"
With a nervous look at him, Claudia said, "I had a hunch."
Truth be told, during her school days, Aurora would often escape to the cemetery when her stepmother mistreated her.
Initially, Claudia had no idea Aurora would come to this place.
However, after a disagreement one evening, Aurora ran away and couldn't be found anywhere. As Claudia was about to alert the police, the western cemetery came to mind.
She requested Jace's assistance to search the place. Upon entering, they discovered Aurora, sound asleep next to a gravestone.
From then on, every time Aurora went missing, Claudia instinctively knew where to find her. Often, they would both sneak into the cemetery, hopping over the wall.
She had climbed the wall to access the western cemetery, but now they needed to get into the eastern cemetery, and she wasn't sure if the layout of the eastern cemetery was similar to the western one.
If the walls were too high, it might be a challenge to get in.
Luckily, the eastern cemetery's wall was relatively short, just about two meters.
There were also a lot of stones nearby. It was obvious that there had been many people who had climbed over the wall.
Sometimes there was no alternative. Even though the cemetery gates closed after dark, the yearning to connect with passed loved ones persisted.
Claudia released Bennett's grip and bent down to gather the stones, placing them methodically.
But as she bent, something caught her waist.
She turned around and blinked her eyes.
“What's the matter?"
