Chapter: 1097
On the call, Claudia told Marcia to take the prepped ingredients home, which she kindly accepted.
Bennett chose a quite fancy restaurant. It had been over two weeks since they last went out for dinner.
They had spent the day at the racecourse, and Claudia only dressed casually.
She wore light pink sweatpants that fit loosely, paired with a white T-shirt featuring a cartoon pattern and sneakers. Her long hair was tied up in a bun, giving her a casual and youthful appearance.
Claudia felt out of place when they entered the restaurant. The female patrons were dressed elegantly in high heels, while she was underdressed and felt self-conscious.
However, her natural beauty shone through. Even in casual attire, her lovely demeanor and striking features made her stand out, and no one could fault her for her choice of clothing.
Their reserved seats were ready upon their arrival. Bennett provided his name to the waiter, who promptly escorted them to their table.
It was nearing 6 p.m., and the restaurant was bustling with diners.
Realizing that she had petted Proudsnow before leaving, Claudia stood up and said, “I'm going to the washroom to wash my hands."
Bennett glanced up at her and nodded.
“Okay.”
They were seated on the right side of the restaurant, while the washroom was on the opposite side.
A piano sat on a small stage in the middle of the restaurant.
When Claudia passed by, she glanced at the woman skillfully playing the piano.
She couldn't resist stealing a few more glances at the pianist but didn't stop to watch.
Just before she reached the washroom, Anthony intercepted her, seeming to appear out of thin air.
“Cece, I haven't seen you for a long time."
Claudia's eyes widened in astonishment when she saw him.
It had indeed been a long time since they last met.
Pursing her lips, she didn't want to talk to him and was eager to leave.
"Mr. Nixon, please move aside."
However, Anthony didn't step aside. He gazed at her with an anguished expression.
"Cece, can I tell you something?"
Claudia answered without hesitation, "No."
