Chapter: 1183
"How about Mr. Dreskin?"
The mention of Bennett made Claudia nervous in an instant. "He'll be attending a dinner party tonight."
Claudia was not lying. Bennett had massaged her again earlier to say that he had a dinner party to attend tonight. That was why she decided to have dinner with her father instead.
“Oh, okay. Thankfully, I haven't prepared the ingredients yet."
With a nod, Claudia started to make her way to the front door. When she suddenly remembered something, she looked back at Marcia and said, "Marcia, a cleaner will come to clean the villa later today. Please stay here until she leaves."
"Of course."
Claudia frequently allowed her to take a day off, so Marcia did not mind staying to supervise the cleaner.
"I'll go to my father's house now. You can go home once she's done cleaning."
"Yes, Mrs. Dreskin."
Claudia retrieved the car keys and headed towards the garage.
She had not spent the night at her father's place since marrying Bennett. She wondered if Bennett would have a problem with it if she did so at her father's.
She did not want to run away. It was just that she could not bring herself to look at Bennett after what happened last night.
Jace was not home when Claudia arrived.
Elmo was taken aback upon seeing her. "Claudia, what brings you here?"
"I'm here to visit my dad."
Claudia took a moment to gather her thoughts before continuing, “I'm also here to ask you if that person has contacted Dad recently.”
Elmo's doubts about her unexpected homecoming vanished after hearing her words. "Your father has been getting a lot of calls, so I'm not sure if that person contacted him again."
Claudia sucked on her lower lip. She went to her father's house to avoid Bennett, but she was truly concerned for Jace.
"Is Dad having problems lately? Are there any instances where he's acting unusually?"
Elmo shook his head. "There's none that I'm aware of."
“I see. Anyway, I'll go and take a nap in my room now. Please ask Chana to cook dinner for me."
With that, Claudia made her way to the second floor. Her room looked the same as it did before she moved out of the house a few months ago.
Her childhood companion, the piano, was still in the same spot, but the dust cover had been placed over it.
She uncovered the piano and flipped the Lid open. ALL of the keys were spotless.
