Chapter: 1230
Bennett raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Feeling flustered, Claudia glanced at him and admitted, “I've overeaten. I won't practice today."
Bennett looked at her and suggested, "Do some exercises to aid digestion?"
Claudia's heart skipped a beat.
As Bennett turned and walked into the room, she blushed instantly.
"Claudia?"
After taking a few steps and realizing Claudia wasn't following, Bennett stopped, casting a playful smile back at her.
Claudia's eyes met his as she responded, "No need. I haven't eaten much."
"So, you've already digested your meal?"
Feeling the intensity of his eyes, Claudia replied, “Yes. Maybe I'll just practice piano a bit more."
“Forget it. I was going to job with you at night."
Wait, what?
Was the “exercise” mentioned by him actually jogging?
As Claudia realized she was overthinking, her anxiety intensified.
She wished she could just disappear through the floor.
Bennett, amused by her reaction, decided to stop teasing her. "I'll be heading to my study to go over some paperwork."
When she noticed him heading towards the study, Claudia let out a sigh of relief. "Okay."
Bennett gazed deeply at Claudia before heading into the study.
As the study door swung open and later shut, Claudia stared at it for a while. Feeling a bit flustered, she made her way to the piano room.
With the recent misunderstanding fresh in her mind, Claudia settled before the piano, but this time, she played with greater focus.
Dinner was served half an hour earlier than usual that day, and Claudia resumed playing the piano at half-past seven. She reluctantly closed the piano only when her phone's alarm went off.
As she walked by the study, Claudia paused briefly, but she ultimately refrained from pushing the door open.
If Bennett happened to be busy, she would disturb him by opening the door.
Deciding to leave it be, she thought she'd find out once she got to their bedroom.
