Chapter: 1238
It was the first time that Claudia had met such a self-righteous person.
Eager to avoid further time-wasting, Claudia raised her left hand.
"Then what's this on my ring finger?"
Claudia believed that her gesture was self-explanatory, but she was surprised by Felicity and her mother's reaction. It was evident that they had their preconceived notions and were interpreting her actions in a way that was entirely different from what she intended to convey.
Felicity slammed her hand on the table and exclaimed, "What are you trying to imply with that? My brother has given rings to all of his ex-girlfriends. Do you think just because of that ring, you're now my sister-in-law? If that were the case, then I have many sisters-in-law!
But I have only one brother!"
Hannah narrowed her eyes at Claudia, silently agreeing with Felicity's sentiments.
Claudia, taken aback by their reactions, was at a loss for words.
She could only gaze at them in a state of bewilderment.
Following a brief moment of silence, Claudia spoke up once more, attempting to clarify the situation. "Your brother didn't give me this ring."
"You bought it yourself? Then-"
Before Felicity could finish her sentence, Claudia interjected, “This ring was a gift from my husband."
Felicity still hadn't caught on.
Claudia looked at Felicity and her mother. “This is my wedding ring.
I got married six months ago."
"You're married? Then why did you still seduce my brother? How dare you cheat on your husband so openly? Who is your husband? I have to tell him."
Felicity's intense hatred for Claudia and her preconceived opinions prevented her from understanding the truth. However, her mother finally understood the situation.
Hannah firmly grasped Felicity's hand, trying to get her to stop talking and embarrassing herself further.
But it only angered Felicity more. "Mom, why won't you Let me speak?
T have never seen such a shameless woman!"
Since Hannah understood, Claudia saw no need to waste more time. "Mrs. Hinchcliffe, I love my husband dearly. However, your son's actions did cause me some trouble. I would appreciate it if you could speak to him about it. I don't want misunderstandings to arise and affect my marriage's happiness."
After saying that, she stood up and left.
Her words stung and were like a slap across Hannah's face.
Her face burned with embarrassment and humiliation.
