Chapter: 1239
Felicity watched in astonishment as Claudia left, her mouth agape.
She furrowed her brows, feeling confused and frustrated. "Mom, what did she mean by that? She said she loves her husband very much. Then why did she still seduce Xavier?"
Hannah glared at her. "Don't you still get it? She isn't interested in your brother at all. It's your brother who's pursuing her!"
Felicity's eyes widened in disbelief. "How is that possible? I don't believe it!"
How could Claudia not be attracted to her brother?
As she looked at her daughter, Hannah was angry and speechless at the realization of the mistake she had made.
She couldn't comprehend how Felicity could be so foolish and misunderstand the situation so completely.
When she recalled how Claudia calmly listened to their misguided assumptions, Hannah felt embarrassed and humiliated.
She was over 5@ years old, and in all those years, she had never embarrassed and humiliated herself like she did today.
The entire commotion originated from Felicity's unwarranted enthusiasm for her absurd ideas.
The more it replayed in her mind, the more rage burgeoned within her.
Unable to contain her frustration at Felicity's words, Hannah slammed the table, exclaiming, "That's enough. Don't you find it shameful?"
"What? Why is it shameful? Isn't it Claudia who should be ashamed?
Even though she's married, she still seduced my brother!"
Felicity felt a surge of anger and hurt as she perceived her mother's scolding to be unfair.
Seeing her in such a state, Hannah trembled, unable to control her emotions, and nudged Felicity. “How did I end up with a fool Like you?"
“Mom, why did you hit me? That hurt. I..." Felicity felt upset and wounded by her mother's words.
Hannah glared at her and asked, "Did you witness any private interaction between your brother and that woman?"
Felicity, growing tense, cleared her throat and said, “Yes, I did.
The last time in the hospital..."
Hannah knew her daughter well and was familiar with her daughter's expressions. Sensing Felicity's unease, she interrupted firmly, “Don't lie to me."
Under her mother's piercing gaze, Felicity nervously continued, "No, I didn't see that, but..."
“But what? Your brother treated her differently? He paid for her meal and wanted to ask her out. Is that it?"
“Yes! Mom, you know him! He's never been this proactive with any woman before! Last time in the hospital, I didn't say anything, but he rushed to defend her! He secretly paid for her meal yesterday, didn't he? She must be seducing him!"
