Chapter: 1262
“Yes, go ahead."
He, too, could go home in five minutes, if all went smoothly.
Jackson wished Claudia would visit the office more.
Shortly after, he watched as Baylor and his group left Bennett's office.
ALL of them felt relieved. Baylor caught sight of Jackson and exclaimed, "Jackson, you're truly remarkable!"
Baylor's anxiety had spiked when Bennett asked them about their project's status. Thankfully, Bennett had held back any criticism after their update.
He proceeded with a few more questions about the project, and upon receiving satisfactory responses, he set a definitive deadline for completion.
He then indicated it was time for them to leave.
In fact, compared to before, Bennett was quite approachable today.
Yet the looming project deadline prevented Baylor from feeling any real joy.
Jackson offered a modest smile and said, "You give me too much credit, Baylor."
"I mean it, though. Mr. Dreskin was surprisingly kind today. Don't you think so?"
Another colleague chimed in with a nod, "This is the first time Mr. Dreskin hasn't given us a hard time.”
"It's all thanks to you, Jackson!"
If they hadn't waited at the door for ten minutes, they would have been in big trouble.
“It's not thanks to me, but perhaps today is a good day, and Mr. Dreskin is in a good mood."
It was all thanks to Claudia.
Of course, he kept that thought to himself.
Baylor smiled and said, “Jackson, you are so modest!"
With a knowing smile, Jackson smoothly shifted the conversation away.
He wasn't being humble; he simply couldn't disclose the truth.
They exchanged a few more pleasantries before wrapping up their day on a positive note.
Jackson, too, packed his belongings and settled at his desk, anticipating the door's return swing.
But instead of the expected knock, his phone rang.
