Chapter: 1295
Their horses were randomly selected for them to ride on the racecourse. Aurora rode to Claudia and smiled in greeting, asking, “Have you been waiting for a long time?"
"No, we've only been here for about ten minutes." As she spoke, she glanced over at Breck, who was wandering not too far away. “Why isn't he coming over?"
Aurora didn't say anything. Bennett looked up and said, "You guys can ride together. I'll go have a chat with Breck."
"Okay." Claudia had never ridden with Aurora before, so she keenly agreed. She also wanted to discuss the matter of Xavier with her today.
But she was too shy to discuss it openly in front of Bennett. So when he stated that he was going to go talk to Breck, she naturally agreed.
Noticing the eagerness in her eyes, Bennett smiled helplessly and warned, “Be careful."
“I know."
Before leaving, Bennett cast a subtle look towards Aurora.
Aurora had tightened her grip on the reins, her lips pursing.
Bennett's eyes narrowed slightly. Unlike Claudia's obliviousness, he must have sensed something deeper.
With Bennett out of earshot, Claudia approached Aurora, steering Proudsnow towards the horse she was riding. “Aurora, how about we take our time and have a chat, okay?"
Aurora felt a twinge of panic, assuming Claudia was going to ask about her and Breck. But she masked her anxiety and replied coolly, "Okay."
As the two of their horses began to trot slowly, Claudia broached the topic, saying, "Bennett and I invited Xavier to have lunch today."
Aurora breathed a sigh of relief. "So what's wrong? Did they have a disagreement?"
"No, but I sensed that the atmosphere was a bit off."
"It's not surprising that it felt strange. You know how it is when romantic rivals meet. Jealousy can make things a bit tense."
Blushing, Claudia protested, "Well... I don't think so."
How did Bennett know that Xavier had a crush on her?
Aurora snorted, "Why? You underestimate a man's jealousy!"
"But Bennett doesn't know that Xavier likes me."
“How do you know that Bennett doesn't know?"
"What? Seriously? He does?"
Aurora found Claudia's surprise amusing. "You sure are oblivious in this respect. Haven't you thought about it? If Bennett didn't know, why would he suggest inviting Xavier to lunch together?"
“Because I mentioned to him that I didn't know how to thank Xavier for covering the bill for me twice."
