"So, you told him that Xavier paid the bill for you twice. Was it really that hard for Bennett to figure out that Xavier has a crush on you?"

Claudia was rendered speechless.

It finally dawned on her what had been wrong at the Lunch.

Aurora couldn't stifle her laughter at Claudia's reaction. "Claudia, what's going on in that mind of yours?"

Blushing shyly, Claudia admitted, ‘m not thinking of anything. I just think you're right."

Bennett must have said something to Xavier in the brief two minutes she went to the bathroom. Otherwise, Xavier wouldn't have ignored her and walked past so blatantly.

Claudia, however, didn't feel comfortable disclosing this to Aurora, given her perceptiveness.

Observing her closely, Aurora narrowed her eyes and inquired, "Did Xavier make a provocative remark to Bennett?"

Claudia felt embarrassed as she recalled the small talk between Bennett and Xavier. "No, it was just a casual conversation."

“Did you take a bathroom break?"

Claudia was rendered speechless.

Aurora seemed to piece together the entire scenario effortlessly.

Understanding the unspoken truth, she nodded knowingly. “Xavier's a notorious playboy. He probably tried to pursue you, but since you're married to Bennett, he's frustrated he can't have what he wants.

Unable to get what he desires, he might resort to sowing discord between you two."

After contemplating, Aurora dismissed her concerns. She was convinced that Bennett wouldn't be so easily deceived.

“Actually, forget it. Let's just act as if I didn't say anything.

Nothing escapes Bennett's notice. How could he fall for Xavier's schemes? I'm probably overthinking it."

Aurora was more inclined to believe it might be Bennett who had a few tricks up his sleeve.

Certainly, Aurora wouldn't dare voice such thoughts in front of her.

Listening to Aurora's analysis, Claudia wanted to believe it wasn't true. Yet, as she absorbed Aurora's last words, she subconsciously glanced in Bennett's direction.

He was, in fact, far more astute than she was.

Bennett felt her eyes on him and also looked up.

He caught her gaze and responded with a smile.

“Ah! Show a little mercy to a single woman, will you? I'm right here in front of you!" Aurora playfully teased with a mischievous grin.
