Chapter: 1298
Bennett watched Claudia's horse gallop further away. He didn't take his eyes off her until she was barely visible. Turning his attention to Breck, he inquired, “What's wrong with you and Aurora?"
“What do you mean?"
Bennett didn't answer and just stared at him.
Under Bennett's unwavering stare, Breck finally cracked under the pressure and retorted, "Don't give me that look! You're making it seem like I'm some kind of weirdo! I'm single, and so is Aurora.
It's not a crime for two single people to hang out, is it?"
Bennett sneered, "I couldn't care less about what you do, but if you cause a mess in front of Claudia..."
"How is that possible? Aurora doesn't want your wife to find out about this!" Breck blurted out the truth and exposed it completely.
He realized that Bennett, with his cunning nature, was fishing for information, His face froze. "We're together. What's the big deal, right? Moreover, we're both adults, not children. We won't embarrass each other."
Indeed, Bennett wasn't particularly concerned about the affair between Breck and Aurora. However, Breck had a nonchalant attitude, and sometimes, he was too naive to think about the possible consequences of such things.
He was getting involved with Aurora. If he couldn't handle it well, it might not end well.
He just wanted to keep Claudia away from it to spare her the sadness.
Breck also glanced in the direction of Aurora and Claudia, their figures becoming vague not too far away.
Narrowing his eyes, he commented, “Your wife's friend is much more sensible than she is."
Before she came here, Aurora had advised him to break up.
The thought of this angered Breck again. "Let's not talk about these unpleasant things. Let's talk about your father."
Without looking at him, Bennett whipped his horse and galloped away.
Raising his eyebrows, Breck followed suit, satisfied with this outcome.
He knew what was troubling Bennett.
Having been upset by Bennett, Breck decided to return the favor and hit him where it hurt.
The four of them spent the entire afternoon on the racetrack.
When they exited the racecourse, it was already five o'clock in the afternoon, almost approaching dinner time.
"Do you want to have dinner with us?" Claudia asked casually.
"No, I have an appointment with a client tonight. Enjoy your dinner,"
Aurora politely declined, smiling at her.
